Itinerary

Day 1: Jaipur
Today morning pickup from Hotel/Residence. Then we start our sightseeing tour. First we visit Galtaji, an olden Hindu pilgrimage site located about 9 kms from Jaipur near Sisodia Rani Garden on Jaipur-Agra highway. The main temple here is temple of Galtaji built of pink stone. The temple has a number of spectator areas with rounded roofs, elegantly carved painted walls and pillars. The temple is enclosed by natural springs and reservoirs that are considered sacred. There are also seven kunds or tanks here. After visiting Galta Ji we proceed to Jaigarh Fort, Jaigarh Fort was one of the well-built fort among all the forts of Jaipur. It is also known as the place of largest cannon of the world, the Jaivana, which was test-fired only once - As per myth! Jaigarh Fort has scenic gardens at the other end which offers amazing views of Amber Fort and the Hills around. After visiting Jaigarh Fort we proceed to visit Nahargarh Fort - The smallest of the three forts, famous mainly for superb views of Man Sagar lake and the Jaipur City. The fort is also dwelling to the relatively compact Madhavendra Bhawan palace. Some shots of the movie Rang De Basanti were shooted at this fort. To go the part where the "Pathshala" song was shot, take a left turn once you enter the fort. Then we stop for Lunch. After Lunch we proceed to visit Sisodia Rani Garden and Palace, it is a palace garden which is located 6 kms from Jaipur city. Foundation stone of Sisodia Rani Garden was laid by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in the year 1728. The palace consists of gardens with watercourses, painted pavilions and fountains. The palace has beautiful murals depicting scenes from the life of lord Krishna. The name of the palace, Sisodia Rani Garden and Palace was taken from the Rani (Queen) for whom it was built. After Sisodia Rani Garden we proceed to visit Moti Doongri Temple which is situated in the heart of Jaipur city. This Shrine is the major hub of religion for the people of Jaipur. Moti Dungri is mainly a small hill, which means Pearl Hill. There is a shrine and a Palace on this hill. Moti Dungri temple is devoted to Lord Ganesha. After Moti Doongri Temple we proceed to Lakshmi Narayan Temple (Birla Temple) which is situated below the famous Moti Dungri fort. it is a quite new temple made of white marble with attractive carvings. It covers a huge area in Jaipur city and is built in a contemporary style. Birla Temple is totally built with premium high quality white marbles. After Birla Temple we proceed to Govind Devji Temple which is situated at Jalebi Chowk, in the same campus as City Palace. For Vaishnavites, mostly followers of Lord Krishna, it is the most famous temple in the world after Vrindavan. Statue of Lord Krishna placed inside the temple was brought to Jaipur from Vrindavan in the earlier times. As per the popular myths, Idol of Lord Krishna placed inside the temple looks exactly like Krishna's form. After sightseeing we end our tour at 7:00 pm in the evening with sweet memories.
